Some schtuff....
As my brother used to say when he was a toddler... "Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry!!!!!" Maybe I should've written sooner but I've been a bit overwhelmed with current happenings and I fall behind when it comes to jotting stuff down. As a quick update... I'll give ya the bad stuff before the good:
My fabulous friend Stacey and her family are going through some pretty trying times right now. Her mom was in a horrific motorcycle accident about two months ago and has been held at a hospital in Tampa for recovery up until now. She's stable, thank God. The silver lining in the whole situation is this: She is being transported via ambulance to a facility 10 minutes away from my house today! She should be there for an extended period of time and I'm so happy to be able to be around for Stacey to have a place to stay that is closer to her mom. Although it will be rough on her being away from her boyfriend, I'm gonna do my best to try to keep her attitude positive and her mind off of the bad stuff. The facility where Rhonda (her mom) will be living is supposed to be beautiful so, that'll be a nice change for her.
NEXT: I'm soooo excited about this one... and, I'm way late to the party. For years, I've been running into people who go to Ideal Image laser hair removal and I've always cringed with jealousy when listening to their stories about how awesome it is. It doesn't sound like a big deal but- let me tell you something ... YOU HAVE NO IDEA! Here's where I get slightly personal. I used to shave my legs every single day. ANNOYING TO THE MAX. I've only had one treatment with them and I can already skip days between shaving. It's awesome! They customize a whole hair removal package for whatever body part(s) you want treated and the whole process only takes minutes. I go there after the show, lay on a table, play on my cell phone. Zap, zap, zap... That's it. I can get both of my legs done in minutes and I'm out the door. I know this sounds like a total commercial for Ideal Image but- I truly can tell you that it IS changing my life already. I'm going on a Memorial Day cruise this weekend and I'm totally psyched to not have to pull a contortionist act in the tiny shower stall in the cabin. I'll blog about that experience when I return :)
Still to come... My Discovery Cove adventures with Mom... and all the upcoming radio station madness. It's gonna be a thick summer. Stay tuned.

Longest, bestest weekend EVER!
Man, oh man! What a weekend!
It all jumped off Friday afternoon- dropping Ziggy off at my mom's friend Nadene's house. She's got 4 dogs and Ziggy's never been around more than one at a time. You'd have thought I dropped him off at Disney World. Needless to say, he didn't want to leave when I returned to pick him up the next afternoon... May have also had something to do with the fact that he was fed veggie burgers, cookies and matzoh bry (sp?)
Headed down to the Bank Atlantic center with mom for her big birthday present: 2nd row floor tickets to YANNI. Yep... that guy. Tell ya what... it was awesome! 25 musicians on stage through the entire show. Love it. I don't care how lame that makes me look. A good show is a good show- regardless of WHO is performing.
I'd like to elaborate on what happened during the second half of that night but I'm trying my hardest to repress it. Let's just say, you don't want to go "bar hopping" in Coral Springs.
Saturday was a mad rush... ALL DAMN DAY! Got up, had breakfast with mom, picked up the dog, drove back up to Palm Beach. Took an hour nap. Packed it up and headed BACK down to Broward for my friend Jessica's Housewarming/Happy Birthday William-Party. Didn't mind the drive... I got to see people I love- even if only for a short while. Congrats on the house, guys- if you're reading this! (But, I know you're not ;). Nobody is.
Saturday night- part two... Had to drive all the way back up to North Palm Beach to take care of something and afterwards, was in the mood to throw down! I LOVE that my friends are able and willing to do so at a moments notice... especially when that requires just heading out close to midnight. Got home around 4:30ish and slept till noon. Yay for noon! Caught some wonderful sun for a few hours and did Easter dinner at Janine's. Her family was kind enough to include me (and some other random misfits) in their festivities. Had a blast! Don't think I've laughed that hard in years.
All in all... a great Easter weekend... and I'm ready to do it all over again!

I love my April fool :)
Okay, okay... I know, I don't blog enough. I'm sorry for that... though, I doubt you're crying yourself to sleep at night over it.
I have to start by stating that this month has kicked off in a fabulous way! Last year, I was asked to write a short article for Palm Beacher Magazine and I jumped at the chance. I really enjoy anything that gets me thinking "outside of the box"- how "Office Space", I know. Well, they liked my work and subsequently asked me to write for them again this year. The issue is officially in stores as of today and they even put my name on the cover of the mag, which was an AWESOME surprise! I'm not trying to pimp issues out but- it'd be super cool of you to pick one up at Barnes and Noble at some point this month ;)
ONWARD!! This conversation took place with my mom a few hours ago and I HAVE to document it FOREVER..
Background: She is OBSESSED with Rod Stewart and has been since the beginning of time. She's gotten THIS CLOSE to meeting him on a handful of occasions but it's never happened. If it ever does- good gravy- LOOK OUT, Rod.
DEENA (6:33:28 PM): what are you doing about your bday dinner? where are we going? what time? whats the deal?

Kanye and more...
http://vimeo.com/3256023
That's the new Kanye video. Whether you hate him or despise him (cause he doesn't have many hardcore fans left due to his shenannigans) you cannot deny that this technology is cool. He's the first to use it. Several music videos created and layered over each other at once. Apparantly, it aint easy and took quite some time. There are a bunch of articles available on the fabulous web of information. If you're a nerdo like me, you'll enjoy.
Oh, I'll add this piece in.. since I haven't written in so long. I'm learning French! Not because it's on the top of my list of languages to learn. Because I believe in "signs" and the CD set literally FLUNG itself off of the shelf and onto my foot when I was walking through the bookstore. So far, it's actually been great fun. I downloaded it into my iPod and I can listen in the car. I have some of the basics down. Italian would've been choice numero uno and I will do that at some point but- this is a great start!

TECH-KILLING-ME....
Alright then! A smidge of time has passed since I last blogged. I understand that. I just cannot keep up with technology and it honestly never ends! I'm all for forward movement but I long for the days of the rotary phone. I want to walk across the room to change the channel. Ya know why? Because I left the house then! I played kickball with the neighborhood kids until my mom yelled for me to come in and eat dinner. Afterwards, I did something CRAZY! I read BOOKS! There are only a few pieces of current technology that I am considered a dinosaur for not welcoming into my life. Mainly- DVR, thousands of cable channels, NetFlix and Wii. Wonderful systems, I'm sure. But... I've got this crazy notion that fresh air is good for the mind and movement benefits the body. If you have successfully found a way to juggle an up-to-date cell phone, voicemail, Facebook, MySpace, Gmail, AIM, a blog, TiVo, gaming systems and every other piece of technology out there... I commend you! I never want to BE you... but, I think you are some sort of miracle child and I admire the fact that you've found some way to tack extra hours on to the conventional 24. While you do that-- I'm going to go get a prescription for Xanex because my mind is far too overstimulated to cope. Of course, I could use some sort of natural- healthy method of calming myself but, why?! We are a society of instant gratification and I should just adapt. I already drink 12 cups of coffee smothered with Splenda chemicals everyday... WHY NOT?
Seriously.. There should be a government mandated day- once a month, where technology is banned and EVERYONE, young AND old- has to spend time with... wait... wait for it.... OTHER HUMAN BEINGS!! If you hate people- I fully understand. Play with your dog, your iguana.. your goldfish. I don't care. Stare SOMETHING in the eye and communicate with it, will ya?!
